Looking at a Qashqai to buy...

I'm looking at buying a 132k mileage Qashqai but would like to know if there are any major components in the car that should have been refitted/changed at this point.

Our answer:

Hi Benedi,

If it’s a turbocharged petrol or a turbodiesel model, it might be advisable to check whether the turbo itself has been replaced – and, if not, watch for signs of white smoke from the exhaust during cold start-up or during hard acceleration, which would indicate it’s on the way out. Other than that, the usual applies to a higher mileage vehicle, which is regular maintenance and no obvious signs of unusual wear and tear on various components. The Qashqai is a reliable machine, so you shouldn’t have any major problems with it.
