Looking at a Peugeot 2008...

Hi I'm looking to buy a Peugeot 2008 1.2 or 1.6 gt line about 2017 2018 model what should I be aware off about the milage or time of a timing belt change and also likely cost to change I see you have quite a few on line

Our answer:

Hi Graham,

The timing belt change interval varies depending on which engine and when it was built. Some must be changed every 100,000km or six years, while others are good for 175,000km or 10 years. It's not a small job, either, as the camshaft and crankshaft pulley bolts must be replaced at the same time.

Other than that, make sure all the warning lights are working, but that none of them stay illuminated after the engine starts up, as there are a few known niggles relating to the anti-lock brakes and airbag.
