At such a low budget you probably can't afford to be too choosy to be honest, as there aren't loads of examples of the C5 around for that amount of money. All will be diesel most likely, which is not ideal unless you're driving longer distances, and so instead of focusing on model year, prioritise condition and a detailed service history. You want evidence of as much regular maintenance as possible to help keep your own bills down as the car ages.
