I am looking at a 2014 VW Golf 2.0 litre diesel. It's priced at 13900 euro. I like the car, my main concern is it has 106000 miles on the clock. Is this likely to cause me trouble? I will put about 10000 per year on it. Would I be better off with a lower milage 1.6 litre for a similiar price?
Hi Killian,
The thing is, the 2.0 TDI is a willing performer and the 1.6 TDI… kind of isn’t. So, when it comes to the simple act of driving it, the 2.0 TDI will be the nicer car. That mileage (if it’s actually miles and not kilometres) is nothing to be afraid of, provided the Golf has a full service history and it should go on for a good, long while yet, if you continue to fastidiously maintain it. If your annual distance is 10,000km, you probably don’t need a diesel so could seek out a nice petrol model instead; if you mean 10,000 miles (16,000km), then you might as well go for the 2.0 TDI.
