Hi, im thinking of buying a hyundai i30 2008, what in particular should i look out for and do they have timing belts or chains
Hi Kathy,
I'm assuming you mean the 1.4-litre petrol model, as they're the most common. Check that the air conditioning is working properly, as the compressor can corrode internally and leak. The clutch can squeak and the gearbox vibrate when reversing, which might all mean a new clutch. There are lots of other little electrical and mechanical niggles, but nothing too expensive to sort out. In general Hyundais are quite robust.
