I’d say the Kia nudges it. The Subaru’s a lovely thing, no question, but a strong Yen compared to the Euro keeps its price is artificially high, whereas the Sportage (built in Slovakia) can be imported at a Euro-for-Euro rate and therefore will always be a bit cheaper to buy. Plus the Kia comes with a seven-year warranty, which the Subaru can’t beat.
