Jetta or Tiguan for ice?

Is Jetta or Tiguan better in Icey road conditions

Our answer:

Hi Gobnait,

Its depends on which model you buy as, don’t forget, the Tiguan only has optional four-wheel drive – most versions are front-drive. The 4Motion Tiguan would be better at providing extra traction when pulling away, but realistically, on ice, all cars are going to slide and slip unless you’ve got studded tyres. Winter tyres are great, but a big expense as you'd need to change back to regular tyres for most of the year. Some people swear by those slip-on 'snow socks' for the driven wheels, though they're only for low-speed use.
