Is too much oil bad for an engine?
I topped up my oil and after 1 hour got a message saying oil level to high ,warning light,so I stopped,then drove another two hours with no message or warning light I checked dip stick it's about 1cm over , Also I did this six months ago and got none of this,is my car safe from engine damage safe to drive?

Hi Kevin,
Every engine is different. Most will cope with a little extra oil, but some will definitely be damaged, depending on how much extra was added. We'd highly recommend that you bring the car to a good mechanic to check it over and correct the oil level.
