I am thinking of buying a 2012 Honda Accord I-Dtec 2.2 ex diesel car with 143000 miles on it. Is this a high mileage for a 6 year old car? Thanks
Hi Deirdre,
It is high mileage for a car of that age, but an Accord 2.2-litre diesel is a prime example of what used to be, unfairly, termed ‘repmobiles’. It means this particular Honda was very likely owned by a company user-chooser prior to going on sale, but this is not a bad thing; fleet cars are very often regularly maintained and kept tidy, and it will most likely have done the bulk of its 23,000-plus-miles each year on motorways – a type of driving that puts the least amount of strain on a car. So, provided the paperwork checks out and it looks tidy, you shouldn’t be put off the Accord by the mileage alone.
