I want to buy a Citroen C4 Picasso. It is petrol and already has 99,000 miles on the clock. Is it worth getting with so many miles already done because I heard petrol cars do not do as many miles as a diesel?
Hi Siobhan,
99,000 miles on the clock is actually not that big a mileage these days. As long as the car has been properly cared for (and if it doesn’t have a full service history, walk away) then breaking into six-figure mileages is no big deal. As for the engine, actually in the case of the Picasso, the petrol engine is probably a little more robust than the diesel, which can suffer from water pump failure and has exhaust particle filter issues if not taken on regular faster journeys. As long as most of your mileage is short hops and in and around town, the petrol one is probably the better choice.
