I'm afraid that's impossible to answer until you get a mechanic to plug your car into a diagnostic computer to determine what has caused the light to come on. Anything that affects the car's emissions can cause that, from the failure of a temperature sensor to something more serious. Get the car looked at as soon as you can to ensure no damage is done to the engine.
