Yes and no is the somewhat awkward answer. The fact is that a Golf is more or less identically good to drive as a Scirocco but more practical and a lot more easy to sell-on again later. But then again, the Scirocco is just that little bit more special to drive, that bit more fun, that bit more stylish and it’s practical enough to be useable, even by a small family. Here’s the thing. If you love driving above all else, then it’s worth taking the small extra depreciation hit on the Scirocco. If you just fancy something classy, German and nice to drive, get the Golf.
