While it's impossible for us to analyse such a thing from afar, the Qashqai's clutch master cylinder is a known weak point. Usually, an issue with it presents with the clutch pedal sticking down, though.

I suggest you test drive a large number of any car you're considering buying so that you get a good feel for what is a good car. That way you're well-placed to spot any issues.
