An excellent used car buy, as long as you have the right driving profile for it. If you regularly drive lots of long motorway miles, then it’s best avoided (unless you’re talking about the current model Prius). On longer runs, the Prius, unable to deploy its hybrid system to best effect, just becomes too thirsty. Around town though, and for shorter journeys, it’s ideal and as well as being frugal (if you drive it gently) it’s also roomy, comfortable and very reliable.
