Is Kia Niro PHEV any better in fuel economy than Toyota CH-R Hybrid (standard Hybris)?
Hi Waseem,
It's not a simple yes or no answer, I'm afraid. The Niro can return exception economy figures if it's regularly plugged in and its battery used to the maximum, which is only practical over short journeys. Used in town like that, it will be more economical than the C-HR. However, once the journey is longer, the Niro's battery will deplete and it'll struggle to match the C-HR's economy. As an aside, a modern diesel car of the same size would most likely do better again on the longer journeys at higher cruising speeds.
