Is the new Golf turbo worth a look?
Hi Shane Asked you a few questions here before but is the difference between mk5 1.4 75bhp and mk7 1.0 85bhp significant ? The 1.0 is a turbo?. Am I right? Also, mk5 2006, 88000kms, NCT nov 18, FSH, good to very good condition. how much should it achieve in a private sale.?

Hi Neil,
Your 2006 Golf should still be worth in the region of €3,000 — maybe a shade more with that full service history. Yes, there’s a huge difference, a gulf in fact, between the old 75hp 1.4 and the 85hp 1.0. It’s not quite as good as the 110hp 1.0, but even that 85hp version feels like a much larger, more powerful engine to drive. Its equivalent to an old 1.6, thanks to the turbo.
