Is the Mondeo difficult to sell on?

Looking into buying a 2015 ford Mondeo but I have been told they are extremely difficult to sell on, is there any truth to this? I would be selling it on about 2 years after purchase and don't expect to add over 25,000 miles onto it. Only buying one that will have under 40,000 miles already so high mileage shouldn't be the reason for it not selling. If it is difficult to sell on do you know any similar cars that won't have the same issue?

Our answer:

Hi Cormac,

We’re not entirely sure where this belief would come from. Admittedly, traditional D-segment family cars – like the Mondeo, the Opel Insignia, the Volkswagen Passat and similar – are suffering sales-wise in the new-car market, as they are being swamped by crossovers/SUVs and competitive PCP deals on premium cars from the class above, like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class. Granted, as a result, the vehicles mentioned here might have slightly higher residual values in years to come, but there’s no reason you should actively struggle to offload the Mondeo when the time comes to sell it.
