I have been offered a Renault Megane cabriolet 2002 60,000 kilometres, new tyres and recent service for €1,600.00. Is it worth it or due to its age is it a mistake?
Hi Karen,
Renault Megane CCs of that era are normally not worth as much as €1,600, although that’s because they’ve normally done more like 175,000km. The car you’re being offered is a very early example, which will depress its prices slightly, but the abnormally low mileage should mean it’s a good bet for that money. While we wouldn’t exactly call it a ‘modern classic’, being a 2002 car it’ll drive in a civilised fashion and it’s just a little bit different from the hatchback norm, so it might be worth a punt.
