Is the Mazda CX-5 a risky buy?

Aiming to buy a second hand Mazda CX-5. - 2012 car has 220.920 km on the clock. Is buying this car a risk? When buying a Volvo or Mercedes I wouldn't hesitate, but can't afford one of those. - Apart from the above. Is buying a 2014 car wiser due to the revised suspension settings, which reduced road noise and improved ride comfort? Thanks in advance

Our answer:

Hi Ronald,

Weirdly enough, we’d probably be the other way round to you – a 220,000km Mazda is probably a better bet than a similar-mileage Volvo or Mercedes. Mazda is a company that prides itself on reliability and the CX-5 is no exception to this. Provided the car you are looking at has an impeccable service history and is in good condition, it should be worth a go. However, like you say, the 2015MY cars (released in 2014) has a number of updates to them that make them well worth seeking out.
