I'm sorry to say that it certainly sounds like that is your problem. That's assuming there are no visible coolant leaks elsewhere. To check that, top the system up, park the car, idling, over dry ground and leave it run for a few minutes, checking underneath regularly for signs of leaks. If there are none then you really should get your car to a good mechanic/garage as soon as possible to have it repaired. It won't be cheap, but if the engine overheats it could be far costlier.
