We certainly prefer the new Golf to the current Focus, though we would not consider the C-HR crossover as a rival to those cars at all. The latter is quite different and much more spacious. Plus, it's hybrid only. The Audi A3 and Golf are very closely aligned and we prefer the looks of the Audi for sure, but it's usually more expensive on a like-for-like comparison. 

A lot of this comes down to personal preference of course, and the balance shifts depending which versions of each car you're comparing as well. Best bet is to go and test drive all of these to see which you prefer, then see which you can get the best deal on.
