It is a good car, but it's not strictly speaking a Peugeot engine. It's the 1.6-litre 'Lion' engine that was a joint-engineering effort by Ford and Peugeot-Citroen, which was also used by Mazda, MINI and Volvo. It's a reliable unit if serviced properly and kept fed with a diet of high-quality oil.
