Depends on how you define good value for money. The A1’s a really nice car, good to drive and very handsome, but the salient fact is that you can buy all of its mechanical bits in a Volkswagen Polo or Skoda Fabia (or for that matter SEAT Ibiza) and they’re all basically the same to drive. Now, the A1 obviously has rather more badge appeal and is arguably more attractively styled than the others, so if that’s what you want then, yes it’s good value for money.
