If you mean the Mercedes E-Class AMG Line, then no, they’re not particularly. AMG Line is just a trim specification and while its bigger wheels/tyres will lead to slightly increased CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, the E-Class diesels are no worse than their Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus and Volvo contemporaries on fuel. If it’s a full Mercedes-AMG, it won’t run on diesel – it’ll be a petrol, and a thirsty one at that.
