It’s a perfectly fine car, but some people do find it a bit challenging. It’s not massively practical in terms of rear space and the 220 is powered by the old, relatively noisy 2.1-litre Mercedes diesel engine. However, we’ve always quite liked the CLA – try and avoid sporty specs with big alloys, as the ride suffers, but if you test-drive an example and you like it, there’s no reason not to buy the CLA. Its rakish appearance is its main forte, which is presumably why you’re interested in it in the first place.
