It'll be bombproof so long as it has been well-maintained so insist on a detailed service history. But be aware that this is quite a rough vehicle on the road, with nothing like the comfort or handling of a modern SUV - it really is a workhorse. And, no matter how well it has been looked after, it is over 20 years old now so things will wear out and need replacing. That's when it will get expensive to upkeep. And you can be sure it will cost a lot to keep on the road as well. But a decent, dependable working vehicle if that's what you're after. Buy on condition and service history rather than worrying about mileage. Stay away from tatty examples that seem suspiciously cheap to buy in comparison to others on the market.
