We’re not 100 per cent sure on this one. It should come on when you turn the ignition off, but the button to set it is down to the right of the steering column. To be honest, if you’ve got an automatic and you put the gearlever in P (as you have to in order to get out of the car), then it shouldn’t roll away even if you leave the parking brake off. Have a look at the owner’s manual to see if there’s a setting you can change for auto-engagement at shut-down or contact your local Volvo dealer.
