OK, there’s a bit of confusion here. The 114g/km figure is correct for the current model of Octavia 1.2 TSI, with a five-speed manual gearbox. It’s also correct for the Octavia with the same engine and the six-speed manual gearbox from late 2013. However, there was a model change for the Octavia in 2013, and the older version, still sold in 2013, with the 1.2 TSI engine and the six-speed manual gearbox, had CO2 emissions of 134g/km, which would be correct for a tax cost of €280. So, if your car is the newer model, then it you certainly are being overcharged to the tune of €80 a time. If it’s the older model, then you’re being charged the correct amount.
