Is my power steering gone?
Recently bought a 2010 Opel Insignia. When I turn the steering wheel the wheel shudders and makes a lot of noise. Also a lot heavier to turn. Do you reckon the power steering is gone?

Hi Jason,
This is the sort of thing you really need to check with a mechanic, as it's virtually impossible to assess from afar. If the power steering has completely failed it would be almost impossible to turn the wheel when the car is at a standstill and the engine is running, though it certainly sounds like there's an issue with it.
Our advice is to have it checked out immediately.
