It should say, digitally, next to the distance figure what it’s reading in, either a tiny ‘km’ or ‘mi’ logo. If it doesn’t, look at your speedometer – it may have two sets of numerals on its face, in larger and smaller fonts, or just one set of numbers to denote speeds. If the top speed marker on the dial is 200 or more, that’s km and the odometer will be in km. If the top speed is around 140, that’s mph and your odometer is reading miles, which means it was probably a UK car in a past life.
