Is it worth considering a Lancer?
Thinking of buying a mitsubishi lancer in petrol 1600cc as they are 8 year warranty and the price is very reasonable for a brand new car Is it worth considering . currently drive 30000 to 35000 yearly and petrol prices are after falling. Other diesel cars are in the region of 24000 euros in that class but was thinking would the lancer purchase price outweigh the price of a diesel car. if a buy this car I would be holding on to it for 5 years. Hi Paul,
It'll do nicely I'd say. Not the most exciting car around but certainly a safe and sensible choice. Just do your sums carefully - with that sort of mileage you're on the cusp of needing diesel and the price is pretty volatile at the moment - we've seen as much as 15c a litre difference between diesel as petrol recently and given all the predictions on the wholesale price of oil, that volatility is likely to continue.
