Most Berlingos are powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine, which means they would cost €514 to tax privately, as commercial vehicles taxed privately are done so according to engine size, not CO2 emissions. The commercial rate is €333, which would be cheaper in this case. 

Obviously, if a commercial vehicle is being used for any private use whatsoever it should be registered for private use and taxation.
