Is an extended warranty a good idea?

Thanks for the advice; I've had a look at BMW's premium selection and they are a bit out of my price range (and seem to be about €3- 4k over what independent dealers are charging for similar cars). Would an extended warranty be a viable option and save on the main dealer premium?

Yep, an aftermarket warranty is definitely a good idea and the cost should be similar to that for a year’s insurance. Just make sure you check the fine print so that you know exactly what’s covered and what the exclusions are.
