Is a replaced engine a problem?
My vw golf has 120,000 miles on the clock. However last year following engine failure I replaced the engine like for like with a 70000 mile engine. I'm looking to trade. Is this a positive or negative thing? Do I have to declare it? ( it's in the log book) Would a Simi garage decline a trade on such a car? Many thanks, Sean

Hi Sean,
No, it should be fine. Engine replacement is a relatively common thing and as long as you can show that the work was carried out by a qualified mechanic, and show all the necessary receipts etc, it shouldn’t present a problem. Always best to be up front about these things.
