Is a Micra in a higher insurance band than a Volkswagen?
My daughter who is 20 insured her 1997 VW, she then acquired a 1999 Nissan micro and asked her insurance company to transfer the insurance. They advised her that the micra was in a higher band and requested a further €200.00. Is this correct?

Hi Kathy,
It's probably because of the slight age difference and the fact that Micras are in strong demand as learners' cars - the extra value of the car is pushing up the price. As ever, shop around to see if you can get something better.
