Yup, a really good buy. Jaguar's build quality has been a match for anything coming out of Stuttgart or Munich since the late nineties and the S-Type was one of its best-built cars.

 

Early models suffered from premature engine wear and water leaks so keep an eye out to make sure the engine pulls properly and there are no damp carpets etc. Also check to make sure that all the electric stuff is working OK.

 

There were a good few recalls too, so make sure they've been done. Most were minor concerns but some were for seatbelt and front suspension ball joints so you'd want to make sure those were done.
