Mazda is one of the most reliable manufacturers there is and the 6 is not known to be a problematic car. The only real thing you should be watching for is the turbocharger on the diesel engine – if it hasn’t been replaced during the car’s life so far and the vehicle has done 160,000km or so, the turbo might be on its way out. This is represented by white or blue smoke from the exhaust, during cold start-up or when accelerating hard.
