Interested in a first car for €2,500.
Hi, i am interested in buying a first car, i am 21 years old and on a budget of 2,500 euro. Which car do you think is best suited? i was thinking a VW golf or an Opel Astra. I have no idea how much mileage is bad or good on a car or what year the car should be. I am also open to other car brand suggestions as i have never bought a car before. Thanks, Ali

Hi Ali,
If you’re just starting out, then you need to probably think a bit smaller than a Golf or Astra. To keep your insurance costs under control, you really need to stick close to a 1.0-litre engine, so you’re looking at the likes of a Nissan Micra, or Toyota Yaris. Don’t worry about mileage too much, but do be fussy about condition and the service history. You want to see a big, thick book of service stamps before handing over your cash.
