I brought at 2021 tiguan from a dealer. Going by the add it ticked all the boxes & needed a car ASAP so we applied for finance & all was approved. When we got the car it hadn't half of what was advertised. Got one or 2 things repaired by dealer & made queries about some things to be told that doesn't have X, Y or Z. 6 mths in, I do love the car but feel hard done by as paying €520 a month for something that was misadvertised. Is there any come back? Or if I want to trade it in, how does it work with Finance? TIA
Hi Sue,
You've not described the type of finance you have, so you'll have to consult the contract to see what you can do there.
In terms of comeback, you'd need to prove that the car was advertised with features that it doesn't actually have in order to have any chance of getting anywhere, though the fact you accepted the car and have driven it for six months might go against you on that.
If you're not getting joy from the dealer and you feel you do have a case to take, I'd suggest you contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
