I'm looking to trade in my 1999 Suzuki Wagon r+.

I'm looking to trade in my 1999 Suzuki Wagon r+ with very low mileage (less than 50k) in great condition and never had any problems with it. I want to trade in for a new Suzuki Swift 1.2 petrol. How much would I get for it? I know I wouldn't get much for it if I sold it on considering the age of it. Also any advice on how and where to trade in would be welcome, thanks.

Our answer:

Hi Kathleen,

I hate to tell you but prices for Wagon R+s aren't good. The absolute best ones go for about €1,300 but I've seen plenty on sale for €800 or less. Which means as a trade in they're essentially worthless - a dealer will always offer you the price of the car minus at least €1,000 to allow for prep costs and profit.

To get the best deal possible make sure it's serviced and maybe splash out on a valet, and at least a Suzuki dealer will be the most likely to actually want to take it in, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be expecting much.
