Hi Marc,

Check for problems with the steering rack, and if it has the Multitronic gearbox then make sure that the gearbox oil has been changed every 65,000km. If it has a manual, then check to see if the clutch is juddering. If so, it will need a new clutch plate. 

On the engine, check and see if the water pump has been replaced and inspect the exhaust carefully for any signs of white or black smoke that might indicate issues with the turbo. 

Finally, check the door handles. They can work loose and are fiddly and expensive to replace.
