Realistically then you need an MPV as it’s getting harder and harder (nigh on impossible in fact) to find a ‘normal’ car that will take three child car seats across the back. Of the medium-sized MPVs your best bets are the Volkswagen Touran, the Toyota Verso or the Kia Carens. The Citroen C4 Picasso is a stylish alternative but you need to watch the engine and electronics like a hawk for any issues. Opel’s little-seen Zafira Tourer is also a good choice if you can find one, and the Ford S-Max and SEAT Alhambra are the ones to go for if you need something a bit bigger.
