I'm looking at buying a Nissan Leaf...

I'm looking at purchasing a 2012 Nissan leaf. The battery I'm told is at 80% capacity with 100k km on clock. How much would it cost to upgrade or replace the battery?

Our answer:

Hi Peter,

We’ve asked this question of Nissan before, but sadly it has not been able to give us an answer on that. It turns out that no-one has yet actually replaced the Leaf’s battery (actually it’s lots of batteries distributed around the floor of the car). In the US, there has been mention of a price of around USD$6,500 for a replacement battery, but we’re not sure if that includes fitting and labour.
