Yes, there seems to be a recurring issue with the rubber seals around the rear doors on that generation Fabia, but it’s a pretty easy fix (just get some new seals and bond them in) and the worst effects seem to be no more horrible than damp carpets and seats, which can be pretty easily remedied. The 1.9 TDI engine, crude and noisy though it is, is a pretty solid until – though watch for air flow sensor problems tripping out the engine management and don’t buy one that’s been chipped or modified.
