I'm getting an oil pressure warning!

“Oil pressure low, stop engine “ message keeps appearing on the dash, oil and filters changed few months ago

Our answer:

Hi Fiona,

It's very important that you do exactly as that message is saying, pull in somewhere safe and turn off the engine. Regardless of how recently you had the oil service done, this points to a potentially serious problem that could ruin your engine if you drive the car. First thing you need to do is check that the oil level is correct. If it is, then this problem may be less serious, in that the oil pressure sensor (or the wiring to it) may be faulty.

Either way, you really should get a mechanic to look at the car before you drive anywhere in it.
