You could look at some obvious SUVs/crossovers that would suit your needs, such as an earlier, first-generation Nissan Qashqai, a Subaru Forester (these are hard to find) or even, in the right spec, a Skoda Yeti. All of the above would be fine machines, considering your financial budget.

However, it’s hard to ignore the value, space and appeal of the Dacia Duster. It’s a big vehicle inside, considering its external footprint, and as it didn’t cost a lot when new, you’ll get a newer, lower-mileage example for your money.
