I have an 04 Seat Córdoba going very well. I want to come up a few years. My budget is 8000 including a trade in of Seat. I need a large boot because I like travelling with friends , hill walks etc and the dog as well must get a spin or two I'm interested in sport and I am teaching so lots of class stuff. I do about 20000km per year. Petrol at moment with Seat but cud diesel work for me? Engine size 1.6 is fine. Wud like a bit of wow factor .
Hi Grace,
Well, your Cordoba will probably only get you about €1,000 on a trade in, so that may restrict your choice a little, depending on how new you want your car to be. If you fancy staying with SEAT, a good possible option could be to track down an Ibiza ST estate, which has a decent-sized boot, and if you get it with the 1.4 diesel engine is very, very economical. If you fancy something a little more rugged, you might just be able to squeeze into a Dacia Duster, but it’s going to be pretty basic at that level, most likely a 2014 model year car. A bit more wow factor? You could potentially get into a BMW 3 Series Touring or Audi A4 Avant for that kind of budget (circa 2007-2008), but that does mean abandoning your 1.6-litre engine limit. Or you could get into a 2012-ish Volvo V50 1.6 D estate for that kind of budget, which is a decent choice.
