Well, to be honest we wouldn’t. If you’ve got a family and need a practical car, you’re far better off and will find much better value, going for a hatchback or compact estate. A Golf or Focus Estate makes for some of the best family all-rounders you can buy. 

If you’re determined to get an SUV though, then the best small ones to go for at the moment are the SEAT Arona, Renault Captur, Citroen C3 Aircross, Hyundai Kona, or Peugeot 2008.
