looking for a economical car, cheap wirh insurance, road tax and fuel. Id prefer a diesel automatic. Something reliable but also not too expensive to fix for parts. Ive not a clue where to start. Id be so grateful for some pointers in the right direction.
Hi Paula,
OK, most diesel automatics that you'll find on sale are in premium German brands - Audi, BMW and so on - which are not the cheapest to insure. There are some options though. Both Hyundai and Kia offer diesel auto versions of the i30 and cee'd, both of which would fit all your criteria rather nicely. Ditto the Nissan Qashqai 1.5 diesel auto. A SEAT Leon, Skoda Octavia, or Volkswagen Golf with the 1.6 TDI and DSG automatic would also be great choices, although the DSG needs regular maintenance for full reliability.
