I want to import a car I own to Ireland...

i want to tax my car in ireland when i import it,i have owned this car for more than 1 year outside the state

Our answer:

Hi John,

You shouldn’t have to pay any Vehicle Registration Tax so long as you can show proof of having had the car taxed and insured at your previous address, and proof of the fact that you have moved to Ireland from that address. You’ll find all the details you need on either the Revenue or Citizen Information websites.
